Step into your Power
Stepping into your power – How can I find my internal strength and power
Do you sometimes have thoughts that the world is against you, everything is going wrong, people annoy you, nothing seems to work and you may even die?
Perhaps you have had a have a few words with your God of choice, about how they are not supporting you or taking care of you, leaving you feeling alone, hopeless and helpless. When you have these thoughts it is usually because you have not stepped into your full power.
You may be feeling and even acting like a victim. It could be a victim of circumstance, or a victim of other people’s wrong-doings or cruelty. It is as though the world is doing things to you and you have no choice but to sit there and suffer quietly. You look in the mirror and maybe even watch the tears roll down your face, contemplating how this world and people can be so unkind, and commit such atrocities to those that are as fundamentally innocent and kind as you!
However in this state you have forgotten one fundamental thing . You have a choice.
You may not believe this and your mind is probably trying to convince you that you have no choice. There is some truth to this, in that we cannot always influence others or external factors such as pandemics. Each individual is also fully entitled to their free-will.
There is however a better and much stronger tool that we have at our disposal. That tool is the present moment. As the mind is usually focused in the past or the future, it has little experience of the power of this tool.
In the present moment, we can become aware of what we are feeling and mindfully choose another feeling. We can simply change the way we feel inside through choice.
What we are actually trying to get away from is not the fact that people don’t like us and that the world seems cruel and that we are scared to death. What we are actually trying to avoid is the way this makes us feel inside. All these thoughts and fears create an unpleasant sensation inside of us which we are desperately trying to escape from.
Through mindfulness we can become aware of these feelings. We have many options. We can choose to give them no attention, to love them and fully embrace them, to let them go, to mindfully choose another sensation or something else completely. The choice is ours. We no longer have to hang onto these unpleasant sensations. This may sound tricky but it is actually very simple.
In fact it is a lot simpler than trying to control our external environment and behaviour in such a way that fulfils all our needs so that we and everybody else around us is pleased and happy, and we never get ill. It is also a lot less tiring.
I invite you to step into the present moment and into your full power. Examine your stories. Look at your thoughts and feelings and choose again. Choose joy, choose bliss, choose fun, choose love and laughter. Choose and feel all of this in present time. You have the choice and you have the power!
With much Love
